Use in Cancer

Rasburicase is approved to treat:

  • High levels of uric acid in the blood.

Rasburicase is also approved to prevent:

  • Tumor lysis syndrome in patients with leukemia, lymphoma, or malignant solid tumors. It is used when the treatment is expected to cause high blood levels of uric acid.

Rasburicase is also being studied in the prevention of other conditions.
